Our Story

A Family-Owned Vietnamese Kitchen in Douglasdale

Saigon Royal Restaurant is a small, family-run Vietnamese restaurant that has been cooking for the Douglasdale and Douglasglen communities of southeast Calgary since around 2010.

Our family brought its recipes and cooking traditions from Vietnam and built a neighbourhood restaurant around them. The menu stays close to home-style Saigon cooking: steaming bowls of pho, grilled meats over rice or vermicelli, stir-fried noodle dishes and fresh Vietnamese appetizers, all made with fresh ingredients and broths simmered in house.

Located minutes from McKenzie Lake, McKenzie Towne, Quarry Park and Riverbend, we are a dependable spot for a quick weekday lunch, a relaxed family dinner or authentic Vietnamese food to go. The dining room is casual and welcoming, and you will usually be greeted by the same familiar faces.
